TOEFL Writing Task_15092026 in W1 Module 06 Connecting Everyday Experiences
TOEFL ITP itself does not include an essay-writing section, but you can use a TOEFL-style independent writing prompt modeled on the kind of opinion task traditionally associated with TOEFL writing. For your Writing I learners, I would reduce the length and linguistic demands to match the course’s A2 target while retaining the core requirement of stating a position, supporting it with reasons, and giving examples. This fits the course emphasis on organized paragraphs, connectors, and increasingly independent student writing.
TOEFL-Style Writing Task
Study Alone or Study with Others?
Some university students prefer to study alone. Other students prefer to study with classmates or friends.
Which do you prefer?
Write about your preference and explain why you prefer it. Give reasons and examples from your own experience.
You may consider questions such as:
- Where do you usually study?
- Do other people help you learn?
- Is it easier for you to concentrate alone or with others?
- What are the advantages of your preferred way of studying?
- Can you give an example from your university experience?
Your Task
Write one well-developed paragraph of approximately 120–150 words.
Your paragraph should include:
- A clear topic sentence stating your preference.
- At least two reasons supporting your opinion.
- At least one specific example.
- Connectors such as because, also, for example, but, so, first, or finally.
- A concluding sentence that restates or summarizes your main idea.
Write independently. Focus first on communicating your ideas clearly rather than trying to use difficult vocabulary.
