GenAI Syllabus Statements
⚡️ Always review the syllabus for the GenAI syllabus statement used for the course you are enrolled in.
Option 1 (Balanced & Concise):
“Generative AI tools may be used to support specific learning tasks (e.g., brainstorming, research) when approved by the instructor, but they must never replace your own reading, writing, and thinking. Any use of AI must be transparently acknowledged with attribution, and all submitted work must maintain an originality score of 90–100% and reflect your authentic voice.”
Option 2 (Slightly More Conversational):
“I encourage thoughtful engagement with AI as a supplementary tool for brainstorming, research, and learning—but always within defined contexts and with full transparency and attribution. Your original voice and critical thinking are non-negotiable; all submitted work must achieve 90–100% originality and show genuine improvement through revision.”
Option 3 (Most Concise):
“AI is a supplementary tool to support learning when used transparently and within instructor-approved contexts; all submitted work must maintain 90–100% originality, be properly attributed if AI is used, and reflect your authentic voice and critical thinking.”
