Writing II Module 18: Redoing Essays

  • For those completing a final draft, make sure to check the following:

    Go to CAADI to complete your first draft. Let me know (today) 2026-06-01when you complete your first draft, and I will send you your originality report.

    1. Title of your essay

    2. Image

    3. Introductory Paragraph with at least one citation to support the background information

      1. hook

      2. background information (with at least one citation)

      3. Thesis statement

    4. Three body paragraphs according to the The M.E.A.L. Plan: A Comprehensive Approach to Paragraph Development

      1. At least one citation to support evidence

      2. 120-180 words

      3. 5-8 sentences

    5. Conclusion Paragraph

      1. Restate the thesis statement

      2. State the significance, relevance, big picture, etc. of the thesis statement. Why should anyone care?

      3. Conclude with a closing statement

    6. Citations and references according to APA.

      1. Paraphrase all citations.

      2. Include only parenthetical citations.

      3. Avoid mentioning the author, study, researchers, etc.

      4. At least three references

      5. At least one citation in each paragraph except for the conclusion paragraph.
